Hello everyone, I had a lovely evening of creativity on Friday night with three talented ladies. We made a Mini Album and a Valentines card. The Mini Album requires scoring and folding and is made by adhering three folded pieces of 8″ x 8″ cardstock together to make a long length of card. The triangles made by the folds are covered using your choice of Designer Series Paper (DSP), the squares are covered using a complimentary piece of cardstock and can then be used as a place for photos. The covers at each end are pieces of chipboard covered with DSP.
Please email me at stampingwithfiona@gmail.com if you would like a copy of the instructions.
We were joined by a talented young man towards the end of the evening and he quickly got the hang of using die cuts and made his own Valentines card.
Today I went to a Stamping’ Up! Training day where there was more creativity. I belong to a group called the Stampin’ Stars and our esteemed leader Natalie gets us together for a day every quarter. We made some great cards using the same set that I used for the Valentines card, this time making non Valentine cards to show how versatile our stamp sets are.
We also ‘swap’ cards, we each make a card, enough for everyone there and then we ‘swap’. Its a great way to see how other people use stamps and accessories, and learn new techniques. When I have photographed them all I will share them with you. It is truly amazing how a group of people can have exactly the same tools, colour of inks, yardstick and stamp sets and end up with such a variety of style – thats what creativity is all about.
Keep crafting and being creative,
Fiona
