Hello everyone, I find the hardest cards to make are for loved ones. I had cards I need to make for important birthdays for my Dad and soon to be sister in law, boy, did I struggle. I know I haven’t been in my craft room for nearly 2 months as we’ve been away and then its been too hot so I really felt like a rookie when I got started.
The Z fold card is simple to make and yet has a ‘Wow’ factor so I decided to make one using the Beautiful You stamp set. This is the card for my soon to be sister in laws special birthday. The Wedding is later this month so I should be getting started on the Wedding card!
Instructions:
- Cut card stock of your choice to 29.6 cm x 10.5 cm, (I used Melon Mambo) and a strip of card stock 29.6cm x 4cm.
- Score & fold in half on 14.8 cm and then score & fold on one panel at 7.4cm, this creates the Z fold. Do the same thing on the strip.
- Decorate the panels and strip with Designer Series Paper (DSP) (i have used retired papers as it had the colours I wanted).
- Stamp onto Whisper White card stock using the Beautiful You stamp set, and also onto DSP.
- Die cut the stamped image with a circle die, die cut card stock in your colour using Scalloped circle and adhere together so scallop shows around the edges.
- Die cut the words ‘Celebrate’ and ‘You’, (I have used Glimmer card).
- Adhere the decorated strip to the card, the long strip to the front of the card in a reverse ‘Z’
- Adhere the stamped image to the strip.
- Adhere Whisper White card to the back of the large panel for your personal message to the recipient.
- There you have it – a quick and easy Z card.
