Hello Everyone,
Today I am able to share what I think is an Eye popping Card in a Box Hot Air Balloonst hat I made for my Dad’s 80th Birthday and which I gave to him yesterday.
I saw something on Pinterest by Nicola Wilson and like her I decided to use retired Designer Series paper (DSP) for the mountains. It was a big milestone birthday form Dad – his 80th, he didn’t want the number flaunted so its hidden away as the basket for the big hot air balloon at the back of the others.
I have been lucky enough to have flown in a hot air balloon a few times, it is an amazing experience and I enjoyed making this card as it reminded me of the experience.
Instructions
- Make a standard Card in a Box Base. (Please email me at stampingwithfiona@gmail.com and I will be happy to email you a template.)
- Stamp the balloons from the Lift Me Up stamp set and die cut using the Up and Away Thinlet dies
- Adhere infront and behind the mountains.
- Die cut three large Whisper White balloons using the Up and Away Thinlets and adhere one to each of the side flaps.
- Die cut coloured layers to go behind the third Whisper White balloon and adhere to the card ‘wall’.
- Stamp Happy Birthday and die cut or punch out. I used the Lots Of Labels dies (sadly, now retired).
- Adhere to the front flap.
The Lift Me Upstamp set and Up Up & Away thinlets can be ordered via my online shop HERE
I hope you enjoyed this project.
