Get ready to say Goodbye,

Hello Crafters,

Well we’re now into the countdown before the 2014-2016 In Colors disappear from the catalogue and we have to say Goodbye as everything associated with those colours will go too, all the ribbon, card, Designer Series Paper and anything that is in those colours. Click on the link below to go to My Stampin’ Up! Shop. Once they are gone then they are gone forever so if they are some of your favourites then I strongly advise you to stock up now as they will go quickly and once the stock has gone it won’t be replaced.

So as I said before – its time to say Goodbye, which sounds sad – until we get the new colours in June which will hopefully be exciting. As a Demonstrator I will get to see them at the On Stage! event next week and will share them with you as soon as I can. We’re now inside two months until the launch of the new Annual Catalogue and I can’t wait to see what exciting new products will be making an entrance!

I recently went to a training day run by our esteemed leader Natalie Rothwell O’Shea, we had a great day learning some technical tips in the morning and then being creative in the afternoon. I have loads of wash tape and hardly ever use it, now I am a convert and love it. The first card is nearly all made with wash tape, all the diagonal stripes are Its My Party wash tape from the Spring/Summer Occasions catalogue and it was so simple to make I don’t know why I hadn’t tried it before. The second card is  great for an event you’d forgotten or just heard about as its quick and easy.

I hope to share more wash tape cards with you as its something I want to have a good play around with – there are all sorts of designs so watch this space…

Spring is here!

Well the sun is shining and it feels like Spring is here so here are some beautiful spring like cards that I hope will inspire you. Although having stepped outside the door its still cold so I hear my craft room calling..

The colours are Pool Party, Mint Macaron & Blushing Bride and I’m loving this combination.

In the first picture I have used the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper for the top half of the card which I adhered to Whisper White yardstick, which was adhered to the Blushing Bride card base. I used the Pool Party glitter tape to split the card and give some bling. The butterfly from Butterfly Basics stamp set was stamped onto Blushing Bride cardstock and I cut it out with the Butterfly Thinlets die.

The second card was a Blushing Bride card base, I stamped randomly onto Whisper White card using the Garden in Bloom stamp set, the flower in Blushing Bride ink and the leaves in Mint Macaron. The big ‘Thank You’ is from the ‘Another Thank You’ set and I stamped that in Pool Party to m match the glitter tape.

I really like these colour combinations which are key in the Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer Occasions catalogue. Theres just two months to go for this catalogue as it ends on 31st May so if you like them please hop on over to my shop using the link above.

Well I’ve spent my Easter weekend stamping hundreds of polka dots! Why – do I hear you ask?

I was making ‘Save the Day’ cards for a friends daughter who is getting married in 2017 and she LOVES polka dots. I had made some templates for her and she chose the ones below. The colours of Night of Navy & Blushing Bride were her choice of colour scheme and all the products used are courtesy of Stampin’ Up!

The first photo is one of the samples that I made to show the ‘bride to be’, I had to move the wording around so that the ribbon didn’t cover any of the wording. The second and third photos show my desk whilst I was working on my production line. I set myself the goal of making a certain number a day so that the task wasn’t too daunting and Im very happy to say that I met my goal. I punched out a row of 1/2 inch holes on a pice of card and that became my working template for the polka dots.

   

I used the rubber on the end of a mechanical pencil and dipped it into ink and then stamped it onto a piece of card through the template. I stamped 1500 polka dots by the time I had completed them all! That and tying the little bows was probably the hardest part for me.
